FAQ
Got questions? You’re in the right place. Whether you’re wondering how the Shanti Mat works, what it feels like, or how to use it for the best results, this FAQ section has you covered
What is the Shanti Mat used for?
The Shanti Mat is a holistic wellness accessory designed to enhance your overall well-being. People often turn to it to encourage deeper sleep, improve blood flow, ease muscle tension, reduce stress, and promote relaxation and vitality. These benefits are made possible by leveraging the ancient principles of acupressure—all from the comfort of your own space.
How do I know it works?
Acupressure has been a trusted healing method in Eastern traditions for thousands of years. Though it’s still gaining popularity in the West, it’s already practiced globally by professionals. The Shanti Mat brings this age-old practice into your home by replicating its effects through a modern format.
What does it feel like?
When lying on the Shanti Mat, thousands of tiny pressure points stimulate your skin and muscles. At first, this can feel sharp or uncomfortable—much like a deep warming sensation. But within minutes, your body adapts, tension melts away, and a calm, blissful state may follow—sometimes even leading to sleep.
Everyone reacts differently to pressure. For some, it only takes minutes to adjust. For others, it may take a few sessions. With time, your body becomes more responsive, and the experience grows increasingly soothing.
Does it hurt?
Initial discomfort is normal. Your body may initially resist, especially if you're stressed—physically or mentally. Usually, this resistance eases within 3 to 5 minutes as your body shifts into relaxation.
Here are two tips for easing into it:
Tip #1: Surrender to the sensation. Tensing up can amplify discomfort. Use calming breaths or distract yourself with a book or show.
Tip #2: Be kind to yourself. Everyone’s journey is different, and adjusting takes time. Stick with it—you might grow to love it.
How do I use it?
To activate the Shanti Mat, simply lie down on it—its spikes begin working immediately. Start with areas like the neck, shoulders, back, or legs, which often hold the most tension. You can target any part of the body, and it's perfectly fine if you drift off while using it.
We suggest starting with at least 15 minutes to get the full acupressure effect. During early sessions, you may wear a thin shirt or lay a cloth over the mat while your body adjusts. For the full experience, bare skin is best. Use it on a soft surface like a bed or couch to begin with.
